Email Print RSS Facebook Twitter RSS

February 7, 2017

Cranberry Fire and EMS units were alerted for a tractor trailer crash with rollover on the I-79 northbound ramp to the turnpike interchange at 3:07pm on Tuesday 02/07/16. Chief 21 was en route moments later, closely followed by Engine 21-2. Chief 21 arrived on scene first to find a flat-bed tractor trailer upside down with the driver entrapped in the cab. Because the crash occurred on the Butler and Allegheny county line Marshall Township Station 185 fire units were also dispatched. Engine 21-2 crews arrived on scene shortly after the chief and quickly went to work extricating the driver and containing fluids leaking from the vehicle. The driver was freed from the vehicle approximately 30 minutes after arriving on scene and was transported to a local hospital via ambulance. Units responding to the scene included Cranberry Station 21, Marshall Station 185 and Harmony EMS Station 62.

Units: Chief 21, Engine 21-2
