House fire in the township last night. Engine 21-2 arrived 5 minutes from dispatch and found a well involved large single family home. Fire started on the back of the home on the deck. The occupants were alerted by their smoke detectors and evacuated safely. E21-2 used their deck gun to start to knock down the fire while the crew pulled a 1.75 to help extinguish smaller pockets of fire the deck gun couldn’t reach. All 3 aerials were able to get positioned T42 on the A/B, L22 on the A, and T21 on the A/D and began flowing water. Crews eventually transitioned inside to hit identified hot spots. One firefighter was injured from debris hitting him in the head, there was a mayday called but it was quickly cleared. The firefighter was transported to the hospital by EMS for an evaluation and has been released. Pa State Police Fire Marshal is investigating the cause.
